In this work, I sought to capture the quiet poetry of Mediterranean life. The interplay of light, stone, and color. The textures and colors reflect both the energy of sunlight and the peace of solitude, inviting viewers to linger in a moment of timeless beauty.

I wanted to create a flowing composition with vibrant colors and rock formations with mysterious imagery, like the skull for example. The layered textures of the rock walls and light lead the viewer to the shadowy cavern at the center.

I created an expressive seascape where fiery cliffs meet glowing waters at sunset, blending vivid magenta and reds, deep shadows, and luminous reflections into a dramatic coastal scene where the waterline flows to bring the viewers eye back into the scene.

I wanted to create a desert composition full of energy, motion and bold color. The sweeping curves and dramatic sky were combined with some references of some desert landscapes reminiscent of Monument Valley.

I wanted to combine some collaged flower images into an image of some rock steps I thought were compositionally interesting in a canyon in Vegas. Then created some surrealistic colors to cap off. Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 11”(w) x 14”(h).

I found some images of a remnant of a flash flood in a dramatic desert scene with some thunder clouds in the distance. So I comprised a nice composition with the elements to produce this dramatic image. Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 20”(w) x 24”(h).

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 24”(h) x 30”(w). I wanted to create an ocean scene of a closeup wave crashing against some rocky coastline, but also trying to make it more of an abstract mosaic of colors to the moving water

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 20”(w) x 24”(h). I came across an image of a thunderstorm in parts of the Grand Canyon. I loved the drama of the image so I altered some of the colors to produce a somewhat more abstract vision of the scene.

This painting was inspired by a photo my two beautiful Snowshoe/Ragdoll kitties that I wanted to immortalize. And one day they were just lying on my bed looking so comfy, so I just had to capture them in a nice composition. Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 16”(w) x 20”(h).

This painting was inspired by a photo my sister caught while she was on an Alaskan Cruise. I also wanted to add some more abstract color in the scene to add some drama to the image. Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 16”(w) x 20”(h).

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 11”(w) x 14”(h). Here is another small canvas study of my interest in the Southern Utah area, specifically the Zion area. The area has a lot of great images to study and create interesting compositions from the area.

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 11”(w) x 14”(h). I wanted to a smaller study of the textures and visions of a part of the Grand Canyon, and compositionally create an emphasis of “The Tree”.

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 20”(w) x 24”(h). I wanted to paint another city scene that has the interesting reflections and colors of a scene after some rain. It also has some more dramatic colors that emphasizes the reflections and serenity of the image.

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 24”(h) x 48”(w). This painting was created recently with a feeling of the horses playing and running in the water that made for some good texture and movement for this piece.

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 16”(w) x 20”(h). This painting was conceived of some references of my walk thru the Zion commercial area and came across an interesting building that was apparently a restaurant. I also wanted to introduce some bright colors and more desert foliage to the scene.

Original Oils on Canvas. Size: 24”(w) x 20”(h). I came upon this imagery of an old wagon, and wondered what if would have been like back in the old west and how hard it would have been to settle with the limited options, such as an old wagon for transportation, etc.

I have been trying to put together a series of paintings of my references from Zion and the local area that I just moved to. So here is a few images collaged together of when I was on a hike and walked around Zion

I collaged a few references together from some desert scenes to create an interesting and somewhat abstract image of textures and colors that a collage of different elements can inspire.

I wanted to create some colorful textures into a typical desert scene by blending the same layer references into one another to create some interesting blends and colors.

I had some references from my hiking attempt at Zion National Forest and was inspired to collage some of the imagery together to make a painting out of my experience there.

I had an old black & white photo of my tennis club from way back and wanted to create a collage with the background image of the tennis club and the skull in a box to let the viewer try and let their imagination figure out the dark imagery. More of an abstract piece that I have been experimenting with lately.

In this painting I wanted to create a collage of a somewhat abstracted version of butterflies and a person. The stark differences between the subject matter made it a goal to bring them together by using the colors as a point of similarity.

In this painting I wanted to revisit the Greek look with some dramatic skies and texture throughout the steps leading up to the house. Also, I liked the colors of the Azalea’s and the bluish hues of the texture of the house, which gave me a relaxing feeling.

Just completed this collage from a collection of references from hiking in the beautiful Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas. Just put my unusual style into this collage to create interesting colors and combining multiple images into one painting. My purpose was to create a somewhat abstracted alien landscape.
